Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1416 is to be contained in the center of a 8ft x 8ft x 8ft or larger room, which is to remain locked at all times. Only D-class personnel are permitted to enter the containment unit of SCP-1416, and only during tests approved by O5 command order.
Description: SCP-1416 is a seemingly normal blood-red mattress with a bright red cog symbol on the middle. Although the mattress is as soft as an ordinary mattress, it is unusually resilient, able to withstand extreme temperatures and fires, and its material is unable to be ripped or cut by any known means.
When a sentient individual comes within 3ft of SCP-1416, they become incredibly sleepy, and an urge to sleep on SCP-1416 overwhelms them. Within the next hour, the individual dies on the bed by a random means. Victims of SCP-1416 have been known to die in the following ways:
- Electrocution
- Cardiac arrest
- Spontaneous combustion
- Falling light fixture
- Asphyxiation
- Containment breach of SCP-682
- Rapid aging
